Training Plane Crashes in South Korea, Two Suffer Serious Injuries

(MENAFN) A light training aircraft went down Saturday in South Korea's southwestern Haenam County, leaving two occupants with severe injuries, South Korean media reported.

The plane came down at approximately 3:10 p.m. local time in a wooded area within Munnae Township, Haenam County, South Jeolla Province, fire department officials confirmed.

Both individuals aboard — a trainee pilot and a flight instructor — were rushed to a nearby medical facility in serious condition following the incident. While one of the aircraft's wings sustained significant structural damage upon impact, authorities noted that no fire ignited in the crash's aftermath.

Aviation accident investigators are anticipated to launch a formal inquiry into the circumstances and root cause behind the deadly incident.
